Got this earlier in the year as a "buy to try." Used it for a few hours over a week. Basically like new. Might be a tiny, tiny scratch (barely visible) on the ferrule, but it might have been there all along. Didn't notice until today.
Never sharpened. Touched up on balsa, cow and kanga leather.

Someone needs to buy this knife.
Every Takayuki I've ever tried - regardless of size or fomrat - has knocked my socks off.

For whatever reason the lower-end and mid-tier Takayuki’s don’t seem to get much love, Rob. Not like the high-end Takayuki ginsans (some of the best knives I’ve ever used.)
The Ginga is a nice knife. Since it hasn’t sold I’ve been using it again. Interesting steel. Cuts a bit like a laser but feels sturdier.
Only thing I don’t like is the stamp. Very pretty, and with the nice handle, probably worth the $270 list price. I’ll be happy to keep or gift if it doesn’t sell. It is still basically new.

Their loss. Somebody needs to buy this knife.
I just gave my daughter one of the VG10 hammerds. It had the same basic characteristics as my higher end G3 damascus [One of my top 3 knives] -- but at 20% of the price. I have no trouble recommending that knife to anyone and I'm always looking out for Takayukis. -- no matter the level.
