That looks an awful lot like a nashiji (pear) finish rather than a kasumi, and it might help to provide a picture of the handle. GLWS.

With all due respect, it is listed as Kasumi because that is how it was listed on the Tsubaya website. If someone is interested in buying and wants to see a what the stock handle looks like, I'll be happy to send one. I appreciate your input.

No disrespect intended and not trying to question or disparage the quality of the knife. Just trying to be clear about what we are seeing. Terms like "Kasumi" can mean different things in different circles. Very nice knife and GLWS!
