Kitchenware Deals Sub Forum?

Post by noobknife »

Is there a place I can post kitchenware deals that I find? Like right now All Clad has a factory seconds sale. So there is a deal on pots and pans.
https://homeandcooksales.com/

Most of it is out of my price range, but it might help someone else. Use code ACEXTRA15 to enter the sale and save and additional 15%. Shipping is $4 flat-rate.

I think people might like a sub forum just for deals. What do you think?

Awesome! Has anyone brought from here before? Seconds are still pretty solid?

I've bought a bunch of things from them over the years, most items I have trouble finding the blemish and the ones I have didn't seem like a big deal.

I would not mind a sub forum for something like this. Some cool deals to be had if they can be found.

Great idea... except you all just made my bank account take another hit, ha. You're expensive people to spend time with!

I figured it might be a good idea to have a deals sub forum because not very many people got a chance with the r2 shun knife for $64 that I first posted.

If I could afford it, the piece that I would personally get is this one:
https://homeandcooksales.com/index.php/ ... ality.html

Just because it's a little more than $190 and you could probably use it for a few years and if you didn't like it you could sell it on craigslist or ebay for $240. So you could end up making a little bit of money.

The only thing is that it's a big pan and some people don't like heavy or big.

I have the D5 version of that saute pan and love it. And yes, it is very heavy!

Truth, we got it as a part of the set from Williams Sonoma for our wedding. So, I'd say it was free, but considering the cost of the wedding it was crazy expensive!

I have the 6 quart without the copper core. I bought it from a similar deal site (Cookware N More) for $!80 shipped during one of their twice yearly shares. I don't think I miss the core. I guess it's heavy but I find that this pan is *indispensable* for cooking vegetables and large browning efforts. Since I got it, I barely touch my 12" fry pan.

Does anyone have an idea on how to make the kitchenware deals Subforum happen?

I finally switched over to all All-Clad a year and a half ago. Got:

6 and 8 qt stockpot
8-inch, 10-inch, 12-inch and 14-inch saute pans
2 qt and 3 qt saucier pans
1.5 qt, 2 qt, 4 qt sauce pans
1.5 windsor sauce pan
4 qt skillet
4 qt weeknight pan

Two pans I didnt expect to use as much as I do are the 14-inch saute pan and "weeknight" pan. The large skillet cooks evenly and helps me avoid doing double batches of chicken that would take twice as long to cook.

The weeknight pan was the biggest revelation. Especially great for pasta dishes. One pan to handle sweating, creating sauces and mixing pasta in at the end. I use a windsor pan a fair amount, too.

The sauciers don't get a lot of time but I got them at great prices. The 6 qt stockpot is ideal for soups.

Looking at all the seconds, nothing else I need. Wouldn't mind a 12 qt stockpot or 3 qt skillet, but I can handle everything with what I already have.

Ok, I don't have a problem with this but I would prefer not to announce deals from competitors on knives and stones. If it's kitchenware like pots and pans and toasters and knife blocks and towels and gadgets, I would have no problem with it.

Does anyone know how often these seconds sales from All-Clad come around? I just bought a few pans but would be interested in more in the future if it turns out I like them. It would also be super helpful if the forum mentions it next time, it doesn't seem there's a way to get an email with a "seconds sale today!" warning.

The Cookeware n More site sells seconds all year round. They have a 20% off sale twice a year (I think in the Spring and the Fall). You can sign up for email notifications at the website. You can also get notifications for the homeandcooksales site.
