Re: Three New Knives For Possible Passaround
The knives are back here at home and I am going to make a few adjustments and then probably let one or tow local chefs use them, briefly, and then I will send them out. I will do another posting before I send them.

Re: Three New Knives For Possible Passaround
I am taking down names and will reach out via PM for addresses, etc. Also, I will post a notice when I am ready to start sending the knives out.
Think I have asked, but is there a preference for 3-4 knives to be involved or just one knife per passaround participant???

Re: Three New Knives For Possible Passaround
I would have a hard time using knives in a given time. I would prefer just one that I could dedicate a week to. Plus, if USPS looses a package then it's only one knife missing instead of 3 or 4. And they seem to be loosing alot this year.

Sounds good. I could go either way for 1 knife or mult.Carter wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2017 10:53 pm I am taking down names and will reach out via PM for addresses, etc. Also, I will post a notice when I am ready to start sending the knives out.

Re: Three New Knives For Possible Passaround
I am ready to start with the passaround....these are the 3 knives that Steve Gamache recently made videos of (see Video section or my Forum for the videos). Please send me an email if you would like to participate. I will decide on whether to include all 3 knives or just 2, depending on the responses. Rules will be standard passaround....feel free to sharpen, keep for no more that one week, package and insure properly when sending to the next participant. I will post more later, once the participant list starts to gel.
My email is: carter@ciibladeworks.com
Thanks,
Carter

Re: Three New Knives For Possible Passaround
Well I am finally getting off my butt and am ready to do a passaround. Think I will just send out the gyuto and the kirit, if someone is especially interested in the suji, I can send it separately. There are a bunch of names on the list, but this is what I have so far....will probably want to limit to 7 people, so I will say that the first 7 that send me an email: carter@ciibladeworks.com will be included in the passaround. Please include your full name, address, and phone #. Thanks for your interest, I look forward to putting this together.

Re: Three New Knives For Possible Passaround
This W2 gyuto just came back from testing by one of our chef Fourm members...I am going to make a tweak to the grind and then I can send out for a passaround.

Re: Three New Knives For Possible Passaround
If I participate in the passaround, does that mean that I get a 10% refund? For those of you that haven’t tried one of Carter’s knives, you’re in for a treat. I haven’t used his differentially hardened W2 (I have one on order), but his 52100 knives are fantastic so I can only imagine how good these knives will be!
