Prototype handle shape

Post by Bensbites »

I finally made it back to handle work. I managed to parallel a little R&D while knocking out two custom handles (not shown) this type of handle was requested as part of a project I was not equipped to handle. Either way, I wanted to provide another option for anyone interested in my handles.

Please feel free to add and constructive criticism.

Thanks,
Ben

How about a shot from either end to see the exact shape.

Love it.

The top and bottom appear rounded or the edges eased?

Either or. Nice work as always.

Did you click on the image to go to Instagram and swipe through the photos? If I understand your question, it should be there.

I think I like it a lot Ben. I've always had a thing for rounded edges.

Maybe a shot next to something familiar like a dollar bill for a sense of proportions?

That’s a great idea, I think the proportions are going to be some trial and error. When I think about holding the circumstance at about 3 inches or 76 mm at the ferrule, this shape will require some trial and error to get that and the proportions I like.

I suspect these are fairly comfortable.

I think it looks great. I think Gopherbroke might also have a shape like this in his repertoire. Looks comfortable.

Yes. It was requested by someone who sent me a photo of a handle from Brian.

Great. Sounds like their is universal appeal. I am going to install two of these on personal knives. One might go out to a “beta tester”.

Hello Ben I like the handle very tasteful I like the flat sides it makes for a comfortable grip. Can I ask how do you make the knife holes. Just curious how this is done anyway you do very nice work
