Quick update

Post by Thezep »

Just wanted to let you guys know that I'm still alive and making knives lol. I have a bunch of field knives and a 12 inch chef that I think you guys are going to love nearing completion. I suffered a back injury of some kind a few months ago but I have no idea how it occured. It has been slow going because it is extremely painful at times and my right leg is debilitated to the point I need a cane to walk, but the doctors are zeroing in on the issue so hopefully I'll be back at 100% soon. I'll try to drop a couple more pics in the next few days, I have a whole new cache of woods to work with and will be throwing some carbon fiber in the mix here and there. I will also be ordering steel soon, probably mostly stainless or semi-stainless, so if you guys have any steels you prefer please feel free to chime in.

Yes, I had never realized how bad they are until it happened to me. I've had all kinds of injuries before including fractured bones and really bad pneumonia and none of those have as debilitating as this has been =-(

Thanks everyone for your well wishes, means a lot to know I have folks in my corner!

Todd,
How ironic, I was just using my bunka last night and was wondering where you had been ....... I'm still loving it and it is performing really well. The Nitro-V keeps going and I have still only stropped the edge. Sorry to hear about your back, hope you get well soon and looking forward to your new creations .......

Well guys, good news and bad news. The bad news is I have a tumor growing next to my spine and possibly into it. The good news is it hasn't spread anywhere and the doc said it's very rare for isolated spinal tumors to metastasize. Given my age and overall health the neurosurgery team here at Texas Tech medical center think I have good odds to get back on my feet, but there could be same latent numbness and limited range of motion, only time will tell. Wish me luck fellas, I could be going under the knife as soon as next Wednesday.
