I'm a pretty big market for Maker's myself. That and all the Pappy I can get my hands on, plus I am probably pretty high on the Michter's and Booker's lists, too.

Re: Chicago Knife Show
I'm working on getting the room now and I'm going to try to stick with that time for us.

Re: Chicago Knife Show
Ok, I got us a room. I’m signing the agreement for it tomorrow.
We’ll be holding this at the Westin River North. Here is a look at the reception room. It’s really nice and I’ve been in here dozens of times when it used to be their ground floor restaurant. Big windows and looks out over the Chicago River. It should be plenty of space for us.

Guys,
I've got a five-year anniversary coming up, and wife wanted NYC, Broadway, and all that jazz.
Can Chicago compete? Maybe I can... eh... show her the bright side...

Will there be food and drinks involved or should we do lunch before we show up?ChefKnivesToGo wrote: ↑Tue Jun 12, 2018 5:38 pm Ok, I got us a room. I’m signing the agreement for it tomorrow.

Re: Chicago Knife Show
I asked Shiba if he would be interested in doing some sharpening demos if I brought the Hoya down in addition to the Shapton stuff. I’ll let you know what he says. The other guys are pretty good too but Shiba is the master on that machine.
Re: Chicago Knife Show
Sorry, what is the Hoya? I thought I knew most machines, but I never heard of that one.

Anyone planning a trek to Mark's store or any ideas of when and how? This might help me finally nail down how long I'm staying and I can start making reservations.

Are most staying at the Westin River North or are you staying somewhere else?
