Did you get more than 4? I want to see photos and specs!

I found this in the tall nakiri section, not the makoto section.

I’m looking forward to seeing this one. My high grade Makoto has so many beautiful touches, even if they didn’t exactly fit together that well, and is a thoroughbred performer. I like the knife, but it made me even more excited for his next knives. I think he could be competing with anyone anywhere soon.

I'm still updating the page and putting it where it's supposed to go and getting pics and specs on it.

It should look better in a few minutes. ;)

The kanji looks different than the makoto gyutos. Can anyone (calling mark) comment.

I'd be happy to host a passaround (jBart style) unless someone else want to. Who's interested?

The kanji looks to be chiseled in but hard to say for sure with the pics posted on the product page. If it is indeed chiseled, then that is a welcomed change from his previous kanji...thats the only thing that really prevented me from picking up his previous knives.

Damn! I have said it before, but if Makoto keeps doing those grinds he will be legendary. I would love to see if this will be the one that dethrones my Takeda large Nakiri, I'm trying to withhold myself from buying, not sure I will resist :? :(
//Yes, the kanji on his w#2 knives looks good but I'm afraid it will blur with use, this is definitely better.

Being so young in the forum, would I qualify for the pass around?

Mark, would you do a custom handle with this one? I have a strong preference for octagonal....

Definitely different and the description says "Hand Engraved". Not sure what's going on there but it sure looks a lot nicer than his previous knives!

And damn that's a tall knife!

Height and length are the same as the Matsubara Tall Nakiri, which I love. But a little less spine width and not as rustic. Looks good!

My guess is that the blade is too big for the engraving machine that Makoto Kurosaki owns so and he went down the street and had it hand engraved. Or he did it himself.

There’s a dedicated master engraver in Takefu that a lot of the guys use. I can’t remember his name and I had too many other visits in a short time so I had to skip meeting him.

I’ll ask about it.

Also, you can’t tell from the photos but he polished the spines on them and it’s such a minor little detail but it makes a big difference to the overal look and feel of the knife. I need to start asking guys to do this.
