Re: Show us your new knife!
That is a very sweet looking knife. I have been intrigued by his work. Would love to hear more about it.
The sandwich looks very yummy too!
Re: Show us your new knife!
Thanks!
I haven't used the knife a great deal yet but so far it is very nice. I will try to remember to report back once I have used it more.

Re: Show us your new knife!
Yes, it was the one on closeout due to fit and finish issues on the top of the handle. I'm not exactly sure what the issue is. There's a few little pits on the tang as it runs through the handle, but I'll live with that for getting it for $55.

I saw that, looks stunning. When you want to post IG links you have to remove everything but the “Bln4kmBAIDZ”. I hope that helps.raleighcook15 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 26, 2018 9:41 am [Instagram]https://www.instagram.com/p/Bln4kmBAIDZ ... a1z8dw9ki7 [/Instagram]

Re: Show us your new knife!
I was wondering when these were going to start showing up. Mine doesn’t arrive until Monday. Looks good with the laurel handle!

Haha I am a newbie when it comes to taking pictures and writing about them. I am super stoked although kind of looking at the grind and it doesn't seem the exact same. I am curious to see how it will cut differently.

Congratulations.
Wow...that was fast. Plus I thought you missed out this time round.
What are you comparing the grind to?

I lucked into one this time. Yea I was surprised it came the next day. Guess Mark wanted me to have it quickly. I comparing it to my Konosuke Fujiyama AS Kurochi 210mm.

Re: Show us your new knife!
I don't think Konosuke has made a Fujiyama knife with AS. Perhaps you mean Blue 1?ButlerHoosierChef wrote: ↑Thu Jul 26, 2018 12:14 pm I lucked into one this time. I agree that, based on your choil shot, the grind looks way more like an MM than the older Blue Fujiyama with shinogi line. Oddly, the choil shots Mark posted for the knives looks a bit different...in fact, they look like they have a shinogi line transition like the old ones. But then again, the Laurel picture also seems to have a black ferrule, which neither of the recent knives features, although I guess this could just be a highly reflective shadow effect of some type of buffalo horn.
Regardless, the grind looks quite nice. (Edit: removed inaccurate statement about vintage carbon series. I have some confusion over Morihiro as the "M" in some lines versus the "new" smith mentioned here whose name also appears to start with "M" according to Kosuke's recent naming method and the FM and MM lines.)
