wife and i have been sampling some of the summer wines mentioned in the other thread along with a bunch of different cheddars and our favorite crackers, the amazing triscuit. In think I had wine, cheese, and crackers for dinner twice last week.

Duvel with pesto or aioli
Hefeweizens with omelets, quiche, shrimp, crab, monkfish, lobster, and some smoked fish like trout, salmon, or eel. IMO most of the American examples of hefeweizens aren't very good, I suggest you stick to Weihenstephaner, Schneider, Kapuziner or Hacker-Pschorr.

You might try your cheddars and Triscuts with a drier Oloroso or an Amontillado sherry

I love brown ales with a nice medium rare steak. Something about that nutty grainy flavor enhance the rare part of the steak especially.

For some reason Ive never liked pizza and beer, Its got to be pizza and a coke for me :)

I thought long and hard about whether to respond to this thread with my honest and for real favorite food and beverage paring. Seriously, it is.....

Chocolate and milk.

My palate's changed. I've changed. The list of foods I've tried and enjoyed has changed, broadened and evolved. Still..... As my Mom tells it my favorite food and beverage paring hasn't since I was about 3 years old: Chocolate and milk.

That’s a classic..... my daughter would likely agree.....I’m not a fan of chocolate so I’m out... but milk &cookies! What other beverage pairs better? Maybe a bourbon barrel aged Russian imperial stout with vanilla..... hmmmmm

I did not see much for sherry but I picked up a white Bordeaux and am gonna grab a couple different cheeses on the way home tonight.

Actually, i love me some old rasputin and a grilled cheese. I am not huge into beers with adjuncts, but man how about some chocolate with something like a sour cherry gose? or any gose style for that matter.

If I could only have one, it would be chocolate chip cookies and milk, but a nice Pinot Gris and some Calamari hit the spot tonight
