This really is turning out to be quite the amazing event I'm missing.
Can't help but read along, just sounds so fun. I'm quite envious actually. Yes, I'm not super active here, but I really enjoy meeting other people who share the same interest/passion for sharp knives. This would have been great to participate in. Sadly though both of the restaurants I operate were audited by "immigration" and I'm loosing key players that have been with me for 5 years. This seems to be a trend in Baltimore now. Lots of places being forced to part ways with such great help. Makes restaffing very difficult.
Always something in this business!

Anyways, I hope you all enjoy the festivities!!

If it goes well we may do it again in the future. Maybe move it to NYC or LA to give other guys a chance to attend.

Thanks
Joe, since you’ll be late don’t pay for the dinner and just come by when you can make it. You can always order off the menu and I’m sure we can squeeze in another seat for you once you arrive. I’ll email you too in case you don’t see this.

Is it ok to dress like I'm going to the local Chinese buffet or should I step it up a bit? :D

STPepper has a lot of good suggestions.

Two notes:

Katsu closed.

Lula Cafe is known for breakfast/brunch, but they do a damn fine dinner. Probably my favorite menu there, actually.

I should mention, then, that Roister supposedly has the best fried chicken.. I haven't had it, but a few people told me it's better than honey butter fried chicken (Not sure how that's possible)

Also worth noting that serai lost one of their OG's and when I went last it was not as good as it used to be, hopefully that was just a one off though.
Avec, while still very good had fallen a little bit the last two times I've been there.
