Tanaka B1 Sekiso 210 - SOLD!

I have Tanaka 210 Sekiso in B1 that came with a nice handle on it. Used a couple times and touched up on a Cerax 6k. I bought it new. I’m gravitating towards 240s and 270s, so I’m letting this knife go. Its a fantastic performer. Comes with the original box.

I've got the 240, and I love how it cuts.

I have the 240 also and it's one of the best knives I've ever used at any price. Great grind and core steel. Whoever gets this is lucky.

If not, I'd be interested to know! I realize it has a somewhat "foreign" handle and I know that some Tanakas from other dealers (particular Australia, I think?) come with different handles. I don't really follow all the retailers, but it is always nice to know what options exist out there. But yes: I thought it might be a mistake, just because I have never seen this Tanaka work with B1, and I know smiths as good as he is just don't randomly forge new steels without mastering them first (and I know B1 takes some real effort to master).

Jeff is probably right. I label everything when I receive it and I’m sure I messed up. I’m glad you guys know me well enough to say, “that’s just Sean” most people that know me well say that a lot.

Yes: to be clear, I wasn't trying to throw any of that in jeopardy. I was just curious if "this" Tanaka really had started using B1, and I also believe it is in everyone's best interest to clear up an error if one exists. It seemed like a very odd fit and a surprising turn, but I respect nakneker's interest in the craft enough to doubt my own knowledge first.

I think we all know of makers and brands which keep certain steels and iterations exclusive to individual makers. A lot of times, that can lead to confusion, but sharing knowledge helps clear all that up over time!
