New line of handles
I'm planning an additional custom handled knives section that will have only one handle style on them. I'm really pleased with how these came out and should give you guys some options if you don't like the dyed stuff that we do often.

Wonderful option for those like me who shy away from even a hint of color in handles.

Cynthia, you must be tired out just like us. The sales fever finally broke yesterday afternoon but I'll bet it's going to be a busy weekend for you.LaVieestBelle wrote: ↑Thu Dec 20, 2018 11:23 am Wonderful option for those like me who shy away from even a hint of color in handles.

Re: New line of handles
OMG! Falling asleep every night on the sofa with my clothes and makeup still on. At least knives I sell are lighter than the 10 piece sets of All Clad pots and the Le Creuset and the giant espresso machines I've been carrying out to waiting cars! So much for a cushy retirement gig. Bet you and Sue have been having a blast! It's actually really fun, but it might kill me. Next year I'll drive to Wisconsin for the holiday rush and box knives for you instead!ChefKnivesToGo wrote: ↑Thu Dec 20, 2018 11:32 amCynthia, you must be tired out just like us. Re: New line of handles
Mark Susan these handle look very nice with the blades. Funny thing some of the most ornate expensive handles don't always compliment the knife as these handles do.

This makes me think back to my last place of work....we used bog oak bark in one of our desserts: in an ice cream, as well as in a white chocolate mousse

Mark, these look great and will make good add-ons or order fillers. Any thoughts on pricing and availability???

Re: New line of handles
Really like the look of these, Mark. Are the dimensions the same as your usual handles, or have you adjusted them a bit?
Those are the kind of hues that I thought would look pretty killer on the Makotos...

Re: New line of handles
Bog oak is a great material, lots of levels of complexity when you look close. Structurally strong, great to work with and has a good in hand feel. It is reasonably dense, so likely won't work well on laser knives. It is also pretty pricey but well worth it.

Re: New line of handles
We made them different with more taper and then we also tapered the ferrule on the sides to give it a nice feel.

Re: New line of handles
This is a service thats sadly lacking in the industry. I applaud Mark for spotting the gap in the market and providing rehandling a service using 'standard' Wa handles and well thought out materials.
