Tanaka x Kyuzo B1 240mm gyuto - SOLD!

Post by Inhuman »

For your consideration,

Tanaka x Kyuzo b1 migaki 240 (U) gyuto

Original owner.
Comes with original box
Edro burnt poplar saya
$550 shipped

Specs&Description
Steel: Blue #1
Length: 232mm
Height: 51mm
Weight: 7.1oz
Handle: Ebony and marbled horn

The fit and finish are outstanding!
Beveled spine and very polished choil.
I view this one as more workhorse style wide bevel. You can see in the choil shot it’s very thin behind the edge , but does not feel fragile in the least.

I’ve used this one twice in the couple months I’ve had it. It is like new . I am saddened to let it go, but I hope it will see the use it deserves.

Nice looking knife. Just curious, where does this one come from? I’ve never seen one like this. I have a hitohira tanaka-kyuzo that I absolutely love and it looks pretty much identical except for the kanji.

That’s the same knife , Blue. The extra kanji is 5 of the 7 code of bushido. I got it from hitohira, the extra kanji was added by the craftsmen at Hokuto’s request.
Full disclosure , I paid $550 and $45 for the saya .

I’ll cover shipping and any fees in the US!

Nice! These knives are really something else. I don’t know if it’s the grind or the steel or whatever it is but this and the Tsubaya ku version are by far the sharpest knives I’ve ever used. They both arrived crazy sharp and even after sharpening they remain noticeably sharper than everything else. I can’t recommend highly enough

As far as I know, there are only 2 of these made with the additional kanji. For what it's worth.

Right there with you guys. I've passed on several recently, including this one, because of lack of funds! :(
