Very nice Ben! What's the wood?

Re: 2019 Handles
Jeff, thank you. In all honesty, the clients deserve much of the credit. Most projects start with brainstorming/figuring out what the client wants based on photos they send me. Sourcing wood is another step, some people hoard nice wood. I have one forum member who has his own shelf in my shop. Others need help, we can raid my would shops wood for a reasonable cost, or I can hook people up with list of suppliers. Daliadesigns (aka forum member GeorgeK) has become one of my favorite suppliers to work with.
Once we have wood, it is a collaborative brainstorming back and forth on design and layout until we nail it. I have three fairly unique handles projects that will wrap up in the next couple months. I am looking forward to showing those off.

Look at this Amboyna Burl with African Blackwood and Karelian Birch. Damn, this mates well with the Kato.

I can’t get enough of this shig! Tamarind Burl with sandwiched spacers maple and Blackwood. The voids were filled with black epoxy.

New wa handle design to show off this B&W ebony with a cocobolo spacer! This is definitely fitting for the Fujiyama petty. What do you think?
