Re: Show us your new knife!
This Shihan came in today. It’s a 260 wrought iron Gyuto. This year I’m seeking out knives from blacksmiths from all over the world. Its confusing because his business name is Shihan and his name is Shehan, I’m sure there’s a good reason. Anyways, this knife surpassed my expectations, exceptional in just about every regard. Gonna give a go later tonight when company comes for dinner.

Honestly she is as bad as me. I cannot show her a knife without her asking if I am going to buy it. She also has good taste in blades and has her own rack of really cool cutters. Just bought her a sweet single bevel gyuto by Dan Predergast in wrought iron. She really likes singles! Go figure.

It is so cool when your partner is fully into the same hobbies. With us it’s cars, knives and hifi / music. And food of course!nakneker wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2019 7:34 pmThat’s fun! Agreed, me and my first wife were just about as opposite as two people could be, we were both glad to call it quits. Shannon and me fire on all cylinders. For us it’s the outdoors, hunting, fishing, hiking, travel and food of course.mauichef wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2019 7:46 pmIt is so cool when your partner is fully into the same hobbies. Re: Show us your new knife!
Just got a Daovua 240! The story of this blade was too good to pass one up. After watching the video I had to have one. The minimalist way these are crafted is very fun. It isn’t perfect the edge has a wave or wiggle. The thing is it really shows it’s hand made and I love that. So for the price it’s a really fun blade to add to the collection.

Re: Show us your new knife!
Nothing fancy, picked this up for a friend. It's her very first J-knife. Got the 5 piece strop kit with it as well. Very impressed with how it looks. Hopefully she will be happy with it for years to come.

Re: Show us your new knife!
I picked up my first Raquin a couples weeks ago, a thinner grind just over 250. I had a chance to pick up a 220 a couple weeks ago thanks to a good friend who is quick on the draw. This one is his WH, it’s a beefy grind but not too beefy. The edge is 221 and the height is a delightful 57mm, I’m happy about that. His rustic handles and wrought iron might not be for everyone but I really like it.

Nice! I like his Kitchen Tractor (KT) versions best. Very much like Shigefusa grinds, IMO.nakneker wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2019 3:54 pm I picked up my first Raquin a couples weeks ago, a thinner grind just over 250. I agree, I like that grind too. His rustic touch is on pinpoint, kinda feels like a knife from the old world. Pretty cool!ashy2classy wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2019 5:10 pmNice!
