You guys are really making me jones for a Comet!
If God wanted me to be a vegetarian he wouldn't have made animals taste so good.
Re: Show us your new knife!
Jeff,
This is my first Comet. I had 2 on loaner from a friend to play with. Even though they were from his "older" work, I was quite impressed. This new one though, it's got me giddy AF.

Enso SG2 8" chef knife, & Miyabi Mizu SG2 8" chef knife. I've had the Mizu for a while, but just got the Enso. I enjoy using them both!

Re: Show us your new knife!
Why'd you buy 2? Weren't you trying to flip the second one for twice as much after you bought it?TheoZ wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2019 8:17 am I purchased two of the new Bob Kramer Shokunin Limited Edition Nakiris with random Damascus patterns on the blade. They set me back quite a bit, but I am super excited about receiving them in mid-September. Only 6 were made with the Blackwood handle, and 6 with the Cocobolo handle. I purchased the Blackwood because I read that hypoallergenic people (like myself) can have adverse reactions to Cocobolo. My wife is upset that I purchased 1 let alone 2. What do others think of the Shokunin Nakiris? Personally, I think they're beautiful. What can I tell my wife to assuage her concerns...?!

Nice one Mark. Its little brother says Hi! I still can't get over how well these Comets perform. They are incredibly good value.

Re: Show us your new knife!
That is a very nice handle! Does Chef Duy Pham have more like these or is it a custom order?
Re: Show us your new knife!
Custom order, I make all my handles to order.

Custom that's in the works...240mm Gyuto, in San Mai made from 420C cladding & a CTS-204 core. This may very well be the first knife ever made from this steel. It's going to be 1 knife of a 3 part set (I'm only purchasing the Gyuto), & it's going to be on exhibit at Blade before it comes to me. It'll have an amboyna burl handle with copper accents & 1095 damascus ferrule.
