VCI Paper question

Post by flying hippo »

First post! Hello!
I just purchased an Anryu Blue #2 hammered 150mm Petty, my first "real" kitchen knife. Took it out of the box, gave it a rinse then started cutting up some salmon. I didn't realize it was wrapped in VCI paper in the box. Just how toxic is the paper? Was I ok just rinsing the knife with water before using it?
Thanks!

Follow-up question: How effective is the VCI paper in the first place?
