That was 77g for a 240 workhorse or 270. The weight is on par with heavier woods like ebony, ironwood or gidgee. It can easily be made thinner to balance the weight.

Where are you sourcing the gidgee? I like some pieces at Greenberg, but prices are kinda prohibitive with targeted sale values. Seen some nice stuff on Ebay, but, well, its Ebay.

I get it direct from Australia by a few people, if you need a block or so, send me a DM. Even direct, the prices tend to be high.

Hybrid honeycomb. These blocks are tough to work, as the small honeycomb tends to be full of gaps

Love that live edge. How did you clean that up? Brush it?

Triple bamboo skewers for display and oiling? Never thought of that. I grabbed a gross of thin Popsicle sticks from crafts store, like the kind they use on corn dogs. My favorite... they slide into the tang groove perfectly.
