Thank you Kalaeb. Displaying them in the main room is half the reason for collecting knives. As you know, knives are art form and can replace space on the wall as such when blended with other art forms.
Uhhh....I'm speechless. That's awesome.

Please come tell my wife it's awesome. I have 'a few' knife blocks in our living room. She doesn't seem nearly as impressed by that as you are!

Your address will be needed. Also, is a meal and overnight stay included?

I've always thought Ronnie's house would be easy to find. Just look for the area with the worst AM/FM reception. :P

Great knife collection!
But I am interested in your HiFi rig too.
I see McIntosh pre and power amps, an Anthem processor and Technics table (?)
But what are the speakers and the other 'table?

During a Super Bowl party one year, a friend noticed my small collection of knives in the kitchen. Intrigued, he looked them over, asked some questions, and eventually I moved along. A few minutes later the friend casually mentions that he took a couple of them off the magnet to take a closer look. But there was nothing to worry about, I was assured, for he gave them all a quick rinse in the sink before putting them back where they belong. Whether I finished chewing or swallowed the entire tortilla chip while sprinting to the kitchen, I do not recall. What I do remember vividly, however, is the sight of an indeed clean, very much damp Comet 52100 gyuto glistening on the magnet.

I say all of this, Brent, to hope that your visitors have a slightly better impulse control. And if not, then perhaps a lower degree of misapplied hygienic concerns.

What is it about people coming into ones home and handling knives after explicitly being told DO NOT TOUCH!
My sister in law is a terror with this issue. She often takes my knives off a block and even as I tell her not to touch the blade she runs her fingers along the edge as if to say "I know what I'm doing". She clearly does not ;)
