Large leather strops

Post by nakneker » Wed Sep 11, 2019 8:10 pm

Did any of you see the new 3x11 leather strops on the new arrivals? I’ve been stropping on strops I’ve made at home, much bigger than 3x8 and I think it makes a huge difference. Just so much easier to strop 240, 270 blades on a longer strop. Affordable too. Nice addition Mark!

Ive been using a 8x11 kangaroo strop from mark for years now and the bigger size is a huge plus for me.

He's had 3x11 leather in the past, I own one I bought with an HA strop base he used to sell. Everything 3x11 works better to strop on over 3x8 when it comes to 10"+ knives.
If God wanted me to be a vegetarian he wouldn't have made animals taste so good.

I have the Richmond strop base, it's good and sturdy, I really like it. I also have several stops that are 3 x 11 to go with it. I like everything about the whole Richmond system

I use multiple sizes - 3x11 for the large bases, 3x8 to fit a standard stone holder and 1x6 and 2x6 to fit edgepro etc.

Many straight razor users like 3x11. I have many odd shaped stones so I adapt to the needs of the moment.
