A question on steel

I've always gravitated to my Konosuke YS, I own a few Konosuke's but this is the one I find myself reaching for, I usualy have to put it away to give my other knives a chance. I was just wondering how much difference there is between the core steel in the YS and in the SKD Tsuchime, the descriptions have them labeled as quite different as far as hardness goes, I know the grinds are very similar.
