Straight from Mr. Takeda himself, just got in a new ohira suita stone. It's a fairly hard stone that needs a nagura or slurry to really polish. Otherwise it doesn't slurry by itself. Much better for knives compared to my shobu. Now gotta get to know this stone.

That looks pretty dope! What grit equivalent would it be around? Let us know how it goes!

I would say 8k-10k range with slurry. It really does well with hagane part of knives and even sharpens up aogami super pretty well and relatively fast. However it does leave streaking and doesn't polish evenly since it is medium hard. Next I will have to get a softer stone for polishing.
