Next stone to get?

Post by Brakedeezbohnz »

Hey guys,
I have a Cerax 1000 stone right now, but I'm thinking I want a higher grit when I order my first Japanese knife. I'm thinking something around 5000-6000 grit would cover pretty much all of my bases because I never let my knives get too dull for the Cerax. If I need a rougher stone I'll get one in the future, but I'm already broke as hell and even one more finishing stone is stretching it for me. Do you guys have any general recommendations for maybe more budget-friendly, higher grit stones that would compliment my Cerax?

Look for another $10 worth of stuff to get the free shipping.

I've been holding off for years and years, but now I can actually cook for myself and everyone in my dorm, so I'm using my leftover scholarship money to buy knives and stones I don't really need :D
