Magnetic knife strip

Post by JASinIL2006 »

I made this for my kitchen. It’s maple, stained and sealed with tung oil. The magnets are 5/8” dia. x 1/4” thick disk neodymium magnets in a single continuous line, located 1/8” below the surface.

Fantabulous! A real winner. How long is it, if you don't mind me asking? Are the magnets centered in the board?
You can blame Mr. Suburban for my being here.

That's very nice! Unlike XexoX I'm not going to ask any personal questions. I think thats what PMs are for.

Thanks! It’s a full 24” long and the magnets run down the center. It’s about 1.5” thick to allow me to easily get my fingers behind the handles. It’s attached to the wall with a couple metal keyhole brackets that catch on screws in the wall.
