outdoorsy knife sign up

Post by timos »

I am building a new design over the next few weeks for a customer in Magnacut steel.
I would like to do a short run of this design. 2-4 of these anyway. In both Magnacut and 26c3 high carbon.
It would be full tang. It is my "bushcrafter" blade shape (heavy Loveless 4" drop point influence with a performance point more like a Kephart)
And my modified compact hiking handle as seen in the youtube video below.

If anyone wants one of these lmk and Ill add you. The magnacut is $300 and the 26C3 would be $240

Available options include: flat grind, hollow, or convex, thumb Jimping, Glass breaker on end of handle, mosaic pins, corby bolts, lanyard tube,
Handle materials: Black G10, OD Green Micarta, Stabilized Masur Birch, Ironwood. Other materials are available but may increase price.

This blade shape:

But with this handle:

Here is proposed design, about 8-3/4" OAL in heavy 1/8" stock thickness. If anyone wants a Scandi grind version in 2mm thick AEBL or 26C3 lmk.

Hello,

I posted a compact edc type blade design recently. Here is the first actual knife based on this design.

This is a quick and dirty version I made during this past week.

.08" thick stock, Swedish 26C3 High Carbon Steel (1480 aus, parks50 oil quench, 350 temper x2)

Stabilised masur birch with corby bolt and carbon fiber tube.

3-3/4" Blade Length, 4" Handle

The grind is is pretty close to a high flat grind with a wee bit of convexing to about .010" behind the edge.

I do taper the thickness behind the edge to about .020" towards the tip for a bit added strength.

Forced Patina applied.

I also ground some rough fullers with my 6" diameter wheel. H

sharp edges deburred.

I will be sanding and buffing the handle a bit more before shipping, just didnt have enough time this morning before taking the pics.

Price is $111 shipped conus. paypal, venmo, personal check, cash, bitcoin, grass fed and flash frozen beef, whatever. All forms of payment accepted.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

I have dozens of hardened knives from years ago that I just never finished.....until now :)

Here is my interpretation of the classic Sharp Finger but with a New York Special twist.

1/8" Cru Forge V stock about 3" blade length

This is a simple high carbon steel with vanadium added for more wear resistance.

RC61-62

Bog Oak scales/G10 Pins

Forced Patina

Bevels are slightly convexed.

Distal Taper to about .030 at the tip.

About .015" TBE everywhere else.

$120 shipped CONUS. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking.

Hey, finished up this guy...LMK if anyone wants one or something similar.
Got this first one finished out in magnacut , fat carbon, corby bolts and SS lanyard tube, tapered tang, glass breaker, and some chamfered and rounded edges for comfort.

KYdex with tek loc, multiple position carry. I will be making these one at a time in magnacut, k390, z-maxx, s90v. If you want one let me know. Happy to make various modifications.
