Bland is beautiful. I really like the subtle bog oak/horn.

Let’s get this thread back on track! I got a few new handles in so I figured that I would post my Top 5 list. I’ve posted two of them in the past, but those have remained (and probably always will be) in the Top 5...

(1) CF twill with M3 black titanium core & mother of pearl/red G10/brass spacer by Matt Delosso

(2) Mammoth ivory with black sycamore core & black G10/brass liner by Matt Delosso

(3) Fiddleback mango with @fatcarbon brass/CF Cmascus & brass spacer by Andreu Cruz

(4) African blackwood, mizunara ferrule & spacer with nickel-silver liners by Duy Pham

(5) Bog oak with blue lapis & brass spacer by Bart Chen

Wow Steve. Those are some beautiful handles. Between this post and the Ivory handle Carter is doing I think I’m gonna get me a mammoth handle of my own in the near future. Nice post!

Had this done not too long ago, handle by Ken's Custom Handles. This was a western to wa conversion.

Thanks! I used spalted maple (natural), poplar (purple/red), curly maple (blue) - all stabilized.

Not sure about a dark spalted wood, would you be able to notice it? Perhaps a dark burl like walnut, Honduran rosewood, redwood, etc.. Benbites just picked up some nice walnut burl.

For light, lots of nice spalted maple or you could go with masur birch (actually a genetic mutation)
