Re: Slow response and 503 errors

The 503 errors are getting pretty bad again. I wonder if you can limit the anonymous users in order to keep things running smoothly for the logged in users?

Re: Do you sell your old stuff?

It's good to see that I am not alone here! :D I plan on keeping these tools for life when I buy them and I do feel like they should be used to respect them properly*. They are certainly "friends" each with their own character. Sometimes though things don't jive and I may try to sell them, ...

Do you sell your old stuff?

Do you sell the knives you no longer use? If you buy new knives inevitably there will be some which work their way to the bottom of the pile. But, with a few exceptions (Konosuke and Takeda for example), it can be difficult to sell them for more than pennies on the dollar that you paid. For that pri...

I like the look of that! Although, if you sprinkle some flower pedals on it then you can charge more. :D

Re: What did you cook today?

Oh baby, it's pancakes! :) I made these with melted butter as the fat and milk as the liquid so they were nice and fluffy with a good texture on the outside. While the pancake pan was warming I put together a blueberry compote that came out really nice (and put PB on there too for a PB&J effect)...

Re: Baking Much?

Hopefully, I adjusted correctly with the corn starch this time. Early indications are that I did but we shall see . . . Turns out, I got the filling on that blueberry pie just about right . . . https://www.ronniesuburban.com/photos/food/homecooking/pie/blueberrypie.25.0703.03.slice.8913.jpg Blueber...

Re: What did you cook today?

That was a few pounds of guacamole. I wonder how long it would have taken you to make it disappear. Less time than it would have taken for it to turn brown? It wouldn't stand a chance! I would guess two days. Tonight I was practicing for taco Tuesday. Quesadillas are a great way to sneak vegg...

Re: PayPal Payment Went Through Without Completing Order – Help and Refund Info

Paypal can be tricky sometimes. It doesn't always like to fill in the phone number field which results in an error and you have to make sure to get all the way to the screen with the order confirmation number. Also, I have the best luck with Paypal if I don't login to the store website because some ...

Re: What did you cook today?

Thanks for sharing all of that! It was very helpful. I have some email alerts setup for some other funayukis so we will see what comes in first. :) Shindo funi on your radar, Ex? Already have one of those. It puts the "fun" in funayuki so I was thinking of trying something like the Kitaok...

Re: What did you cook today?

Is the single bevel Ishikawa funayuki a big change from what you were using before? I keep looking at them... Yes, do tell, erik ;) Well, I'm still getting a feel for it on some ingredients, but overall I'd say it's not a big change, just a mild one. It isn't a traditional Japanese single bevel kni...

Re: What did you cook today?

In many ways, this was a failed experiment but I learned a lot, so definitely not a total loss. Working with a very old dough, I decided to temper it and see what happened. Sure signs of life but not particularly robust. I decided to proceed. My goal was to see if I could manage cooking a larger (1...
