Horsehide and Corian

Post by Bear007 »

I had to do something about my old worn out strop, I increased the length from 8" to 10" gave it some height 1/2" to 1"1/2, put some cork on the bottom, rounded off the edges, I like it.

Wow that looks really professional, well done. Is that a type of wood beneath the leather, or is it all cork?

Sorry I just saw this,

No the base is made from Corian, with some self adhesive cork under the feet, the leather is glued on with contact adhesive. The Corian stays flat and is very hard, makes a good substrate. Usually installers will have cutouts and scraps.
