Needed some play time with the forge tonight, so I decided to try some bottle openers. They are functional, but ugly!! I had to make a punch from a cold cut chisel, make another punch fron roundstock to make the little tab to open the bottle and then had to make a punch block with a slot and round hole in it just oversized for the punch I made. The anvil has holes, but they are oversized enough that the piece deforms into the bigger hole instead of supporting the metal to let the punch do its job. Good learning experience!
I also forged out the remainder of the cable piece I started before. Some came out pretty good and the delams were mostly leftovers from the previous attempt. I made a 4th bottle opener from it. I will get pics when I pull it out of the acid etch!

Yeah, I never drifted/punched before, so it was all a learning process!
