Re: Handle Beauty Contest
Hey Mark, send me an email. I will write up a discount code for this. I just got a bunch of 5A tasmanian blackwood, mango and amboyna which i think would be great choices.
Do you think $100 in store credit to the winner is a fair deal?

Re: Handle Beauty Contest
This should be interesting but I suspect my vote is going to be an outlier. I find many of the custom handles way too flashy for my taste and IMO they fight rather than complement the aesthetic of the blade.

Re: Handle Beauty Contest
To the extent my vote/opinion matters - I'd do one western and one wa for all and split into 2 competitions, each with its own winner. Having the same blade levels the playing field.

Re: Handle Beauty Contest
I have actually always wanted to try a sculpted western, similar to Don Nguyens recent few or Jelle.

Re: Handle Beauty Contest
I was thinking along the lines of this one i did awhile back, but with a frame handles instead of full tang. Getting those smooth curves in there is about the most therapeutic thing; so satisfying.
This handle was the most comfortable (to me) ive done. With a kitchen knife though, id probably lose the wide taper towards the blade though.

I'm looking forward to seeing all of the beautiful handles that this will produce. This is a cool idea.

Hey guys! This sounds super fun, and a possibility of a charity cause is extraordinary. I would love to participate in this opportunity if you'll have me. Thank you .
